A Child’s DREAM Foundation, Inc., Baguio’s first pediatric therapy center for special children offered free occupational therapy evaluations and assessments, free home programs, and SPED (special education) programs last March 8.
GOALS’ proprietor Hayzle Sia, a senior occupational therapist and SPED teacher, and her team attended to A Child’s DREAM patients from Baguio City, La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Benguet, and Mountain Province, among others. March 8 marked the transfer of A Child’s DREAM to the new clinic at Baguio Pines City Lion’s Club, Lions Club International Foundation, Inc. Bldg., Gov. Pack Rd. Dr. Francis Dimalanta’s first developmental and behavioral assessment in the new clinic was also free.
A Child’s DREAM’s new therapy center has multi-colored doors, a brainchild of 11-year-old Katrina Dimalanta, who was an outstanding academic, music, and art student of the Bangkok Patana School. Each therapy room has a one-way mirror so parents and guardians can observe their child undergoing therapy any time without the child seeing them. With ice cream colored walls, a rainbow colored reception counter, and multi-colored doors, using Nviro paint, children enjoy the colorful and safe environment. Nviro paint is an environmental friendly paint that is lead free. The play area has thick rubber mats for added safety when children use the slide.
